Rambling: Christmas Vacation Minus Chevy Chase

..."Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas!"

Get excited about the Christmas countdown. I am.

In almost one week, I will be taking off for a TWO WEEK vacation. I am flying to Charlotte on Saturday, December 20 to see my parents, then NOLA on Friday, December 26 to visit David’s family, then to Chicago on Monday, December 29 for Moustache Turtleneck (this M & T may take another blog post to explain). All I can say right now is that David has a moustache. A creepy one.

In the meantime, I am going to Ina Garten’s book-signing today. I went to Jamie Oliver’s a couple of weeks ago and stood in line…and stood in line….actually it wasn’t that bad. Ina is one of my all-time favorites. She makes sliced tomatoes with cracked pepper look like foie gras at the White House. I’m debating….should I get her to sign her new book, Back-to-Basics, or her Parties book?

Decisions. My friend Erin is coming in town from the QC and we have reservations at Cookshop on 10th Ave tomorrow night. woo woo. Dinner in the cit-ay.

You will thank me for the recipe below. It is so basic, and so old school, and so delish.
